Baypark Showcase
Like they say, there's plenty going on at BayPark! Integral to the new website then, was the development of a clever yet user-friendly Events Calendar.
The standard month-view calendar allows visitors to easily explore upcoming events, clicking any event to read a little more about it without being taken away from the calendar. The Events Calendar easily handles the many different venues within BayPark, often running mutiple events on the same day.
A quick category search also allows users to filter the events they see to just those they're interested in (Speedway only events, for example).
We even automatically feed coming-soon events onto the main Home page, so users don't need to go too far to find that exhibition that's on this weekend!
We were asked to create a new website worthy of showing off BayPark, one of the Bay of Plenty's premium venues. The website needed to cater to the many varied visitors to BayPark - event goers, community organisations, speedway enthusiasts, corporate clients, and more. Clearly defined website sections and simple navigation gets each type of visitor to the information they want, and fast.
With a large percentage of first-time and out-of-town visitors using the website, we made it much easier to locate Baypark by including an interactive Google map. Visitors can view a street map or satellite, and even get precise and printable driving directions from anywhere in New Zealand right to Baypark's gates.
To keep the community updated with changes at Baypark, we included a clever module in the website that allows the Baypark team to easily create and manage news items. And the moment a new News item is created, the Recent News feature box on the main Home page automatically updates too - ensuring the Home Page is always fresh and up to date with the latest few News items.
